The Team Background

Judy started dancing at the age of two, attending a stage school in North London. She made her first film at the age of five and went on to appear in numerous films, television plays and in West End shows, both as an actor and as a dancer.

Having qualified as a teacher for both the Royal Academy (R.A.D.) and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (I.S.T.D.), she attended Drama School and then became a choreographer for many repertory companies around the country, choreographing and directing.

Judy, moved to Norwich with her husband Robin in 1974 and she set up the school of dance in 1977 when their second daughter was three months old.

The School of Dance began life in Drayton Village Hall and three years later, moved into the newly built Bob Carter Centre, where it has remained ever since.

Her two pianists have been with her for over 25 years and are an integral part of the school ethos

Sarah-Jayne who teaches with Judy has been a professional dancer and loves her Zumba which is now part of the curriculum

Pupil’s introduction to dance begins when they are approaching 3 years of age. The half hour classes are a mixture of tap and ballet, and have a strong accent on the enjoyment of music and imagination combined with fun and assisted by a very experienced pianist.
